Dr. Ryan Coon
Dr. Ryan Coon is originally from the great state of Iowa and brings positive energy and good vibes to the practice of dentistry. Dr. Coon had major orthodontic treatment as an adolescent, which allowed him to build a lifelong relationship with his dentist; he aspires to do the same with his patients. In order to pursue his aspiration of becoming a dentist, Dr. Coon attended Loras College where he played basketball and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a minor in chemistry. His continued commitment to his education earned him the honor of a spot in the Provost’s Top 20 in his class with Summa Cum Laude distinction. He followed his passion for dentistry and helped patients reach their oral health goals while he worked and shadowed in multiple dental practices throughout his undergraduate career. Dr. Coon continued his education at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, one of the top dental schools in the nation, and graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. While in dental school he joined the dental fraternity, Delta Sigma Delta, where he participated in community volunteer events and helped raise oral health awareness.
Dr. Coon’s favorite aspect of dentistry is helping people achieve their oral health goals by developing individualized treatment plans and at-home regimens. In order to do so, Dr. Coon recognizes communication between the dentist and patient is vital to attain patient’s objectives and build lasting relationships. Digital dentistry creates a visual aid to support discussion while tailoring the best plan for each situation. As a tech nerd at heart, he loves using the latest dental technology on the forefront of oral healthcare at Myers Dental and 2222 Dental.
During his free time, you can catch Dr. Coon on his bicycle, playing pick-up basketball, spending time with family, checking out the latest restaurant, in the yoga studio, watching sports or hiking the great outdoors.
Lastly, Dr. Coon attends various continuing education courses and is committed to progress as a dentist. He looks forward to learning new techniques and advances in dentistry. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association and the Capital Area Dental Foundation. He is excited to serve the Austin metropolitan area and be a part of the Myers Dental and 2222 Dental teams.
